Sometimes I Dance with the Sibyl

Description

Reaching a summit, with your feet or even just your gaze, brings us back into deep, spiritual contact with ourselves. The powerful photos of Rolf Schertenleib, on display from 7 November in the evocative church of San Michele in Serra de’ Conti (AN), testify to the author’s relationship with the mountain, in particular the Sibillini, and his love for the vertical dimension, which allows one to take flight, from the summit towards the starry vault and the mysteries of life. The peaks photographed and included in the route entitled “Sometimes I Dance with the Sibyl” are those reached by the Swiss photographer in years of journalistic reporting and passionate travels around the world. There are three events in the context of the exhibition: – On Friday, November 7th at 9 pm, inauguration, the author will be in conversation with Sandro Appolloni and Councilor Marica Petrolati. Followed by Soundscape – live electronics soundscape performance and violin with Riccardo Bottegal; – Saturday, November 15th at 9 pm, narration of the show on the legends of the Sibyl by Diego Mecenero; – Sunday, November 23rd at 6 pm, narration reading and music in the footsteps of Sibilla and Joyce Lussu with Claudia Gioia Gentili and Alfio Vernuccio.   The exhibition will be open from November 7, 2025, to January 8, 2026, and can be visited Tuesday through Sunday, from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm and from 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm (same times as the Museum of Monastic Arts).   The exhibition is organized under the patronage of the Municipality of Serra de’ Conti.
